About

Miles Bendixson is a native of North Dakota, growing up in Watford City and receiving his degree in advertising art in 1977. He lived in Bismarck until 1996, and moved to Highlands Ranch Colorado in 1997 where he now resides with his wife and two sons.

Growing up in western North Dakota near the badlands and lake Sakakawea had a profound influence on him and his choice of subject matter. Miles has a realistic style of art that goes beyond the photograh. It is a style based on capturing the essence and emotional quality of his subjects along with the mood of the environment in which he encounters them. Miles attended the Pacific Rim Wildlife Art workshops in Jackson Hole Wyoming in 1995, 1996, and 1998. These workshops were hosted by internationally known wildlife and western artists, such as Robert Bateman, Carl Brenders, and Rod Frederick. Being able to attend workshops of this caliber was life-changing for him and the way he does his art. Miles continues to expand his artistic horizons by taking on new and challenging subjects. He is forever grateful to God for his incredible artistic talent, and the priviledge of being able to share it with others!
